Robust Earthquake Hits Close to Japan’s Primary Southwest Island

An impressive earthquake with a magnitude of seven.1 struck off the coast of Miyazaki on Japan’s primary southwest island of Kyushu, triggering a tsunami, public broadcaster NHK mentioned.The depth of the quake that hit at about 4:43 p.m. Thursday was once robust sufficient to pry doorways open and crack home windows, the Meteorological Company mentioned. It issued a tsunami advisory for Miyazaki, Kochi, Ehime, Oita and Kagoshima prefectures at the islands of Kyushu and Shikoku.
