Le Rhodia, a sunny cafe-restaurant, opened this spring on the second floor of a 19th-century artist’s studio in the Montparnasse district of Paris. Designed by SAME, Le Rhodia has a daffodil yellow dining room with mid-century flea market finds and custom pieces created by French artisans. The cafe has a wood-burning stove and a large oculus window, and diners can also choose to sit outside on the mezzanine terrace. The menu offers refreshing and light dishes, including a black-bean puree with pickled beets and corn nuts, and pastries like Rhodia brioche with orange-blossom cream or honey-and-thyme-infused Madeleine d’Antoine. Located in Condesa, Mexico City, the newly opened Hotel San Fernando offers 19 guest rooms furnished with Mexico-made furnishings, with a rooftop dining area serving small plates including tostadas and aguachile and vanilla conchas for breakfast. Cartier introduces six new items to its Grain de Café collection of coffee-themed jewelry, designed to emit an energizing jingle, priced from $7,250. Ludmilla Balkis’ latest exhibition, “Stasis,” displays at New York’s Guild Gallery from June 9 through July 15, showcasing her paper-thin ceramics in which found objects from France’s Basque Country are often incorporated. Danielle Frankel Hirsch’s label Danielle Frankel has released a range of floral-themed jewelry, including lavender anemone and pink magnolia earrings, and lily and rose brooches, priced from $1,250.
