Disgraced businesswoman Elizabeth Holmes has begun serving her sentence of 11 years and three months in prison after being convicted of defrauding investors in her failed blood test company, Theranos. Holmes arrived at the minimum-security prison for women known as FPC Bryan in Texas, where inmates earn a minimum wage of $1.15 per hour working in the prison’s cafeteria or processing plant. Holmes will wear the prison-issued uniform of khaki pants and a pastel green shirt along with athletic shoes costing no more than $100. Inmates are prohibited from accessing the internet but can purchase radios or MP3 players from the commissary. The prison offers a range of entertainment options, including music programs, movies, and arts and crafts activities. Prisoners must return to their dormitories to read the chapters and have access to the outdoor entertainment arena. Other notable inmates at the facility include Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah and Michelle Janavs, a cofounder of Hot Pockets.
