Riders in the Netherlands are experiencing delays as train service to and from Amsterdam, the capital city, was canceled for the second day in a row on Monday. ProRail, the government agency responsible for maintaining the railway system, cited technical difficulties with the monitoring and control system of the trains that first emerged on Sunday afternoon. Despite having restarted the system, the issue persisted by Sunday night, prompting continued cancellations by Monday morning.

ProRail advised travelers to make alternative arrangements for traveling to work or school, or to simply work from home. It is still unsure when the train services will be fully restored.

Schiphol airport, one of the largest in Europe, was also affected by the service cancellations, and a Harry Styles concert in Amsterdam on Sunday was delayed due to the train system malfunctions. The main passenger rail operator, Nederlandse Spoorwegen, advised against traveling to Amsterdam on Monday and suggested that its customers work from home instead.
