CNN’s former chairman, Chris Licht, who had a tumultuous and brief tenure, is no longer with the network, as reported by an informed person.
Shortly after taking up the position, Mr. Licht encountered issues; before his first day even began, he shut down the loss-making CNN+ streaming service upon request by the network’s new owners. This resulted in significant layoffs, which didn’t win him any admirers among the staff members.
There hasn’t been any comment from Warner Bros. Discovery, the company that owns CNN so far.
This is a developing story and more details will be made available soon.
