Google has unveiled its initial 2024 update for Pixel phones, featuring new health and AI capabilities. Notably, the update includes a practical thermometer, which is now available on the recently launched Pixel 8 Pro. The phone’s temperature sensor makes this feature possible, allowing users to scan their forehead for temperature readings. These results can be tracked in their Fitbit profile, along with other health metrics. Additionally, the update enhances the Tensor G3 chip and introduces a new AI platform. With this tool, users can outline an image or text on their phone’s screen, and the AI will analyze the selected content. This feature has potential applications in fields such as espionage and investigation. The update also includes Photomoji, which transforms images into emojis or gestures, as well as Magic Compose, which offers creative text suggestions. Furthermore, a new Quick Share icon displays nearby devices for easy sharing, with plans for integration with Windows PC. Alongside this update, Google is releasing a green variant of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The update will begin rolling out today.
