Director’s Cut of Death Stranding will be available on Apple devices from January 30, and to mark the occasion, one of the top mobile controllers, the Backbone One, is being released as a limited edition inspired by Death Stranding. This special edition comes with a free App Store code for the game, redeemable on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The price for this package, as per Backbone’s website, is set at $125 and it will be available for purchase on January 30 at 8 p.m. ET. The color and design of the controller, emphasizing yellow, is reminiscent of the original DualShock 4 controller that was released when the game made its debut on PS4 in 2019.
The Backbone One wraps around your mobile phone to provide power and transform it into a stylish mobile phone dock when in use. It features all the buttons and triggers found on console controllers, making it much easier to control Death Stranding. In contrast to the regular Backbone One, which is only compatible with iPhones having a Lightning port, the Death Stranding version is compatible with USB-C, enabling iPhone 15 owners and Android users to utilize it.
There are various unusual elements in Death Stranding including energy drinks, an advertisement for ‘Ride with Norman Reedus’, and a scene featuring a baby sucking a thumb down someone’s throat. Additionally, there are certain actions such as urinating and defecating that the player can perform within the game. These actions can also be used as weapons, turning them into grenades that are related to the game’s storyline. The release of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut for Apple devices is scheduled for January 31.
