PC gamers who have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Horizon Forbidden West on their preferred platform now have a date to mark in their calendars: the sequel will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store in its Complete Edition version on March 21st. Horizon Forbidden West, which chronicles the adventures of protagonist Aloy in a open world filled with robotic wildlife, was originally launched for PS4 and PS5 in February 2022, with the Burning Shores expansion following the next year. The Complete Edition, which was originally released on PlayStation in October, includes the base game and expansions bundled together, along with various in-game enhancements. These include unique photo mode features and eye color options, as well as five unlockable items obtained by progressing through the story: the Carja Behemoth Elite outfit and Short Bow, the Nora Thunder Elite outfit and Sling, the Apex Clawstrider Machine Strike piece, and an item pack containing weapons, accessories, and travel items.

In addition, pre-purchasing the PC Complete Edition will grant the Blacktide Outfit and Bow, while the Nora Legacy Outfit and Spear will be unlocked by linking a Steam account to PlayStation. The specifics of the PC version have now been revealed (and can be found in the full trailer above) on the PlayStation Blog. The PC port, developed by Nixxes Software in collaboration with Guerrilla Games, includes “unlocked pricing, customizable graphics settings, and a range of performance-enhancing technologies.” It supports Nvidia DLSS 3 upscaling and frame generation, as well as Nvidia DLAA, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS. DirectStorage is also utilized on compatible PCs for faster downloads. Additionally, the game offers support for 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super-wide, and 48:9 resolutions, as well as multi-monitor setups. It features customizable mouse and keyboard controls, as well as support for PlayStation DualSense controller, enabling the use of custom triggers, and Steam Input support for configuring and customizing peripherals. Sony has yet to disclose the system requirements for Horizon Forbidden West on PC but is expected to share those details closer to the March 21 release on Epic and Steam.
