This dessert is incredibly easy to make – anyone can do it. The end result is a tasty treat that combines the flavors of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a chocolate-covered strawberry. Initially skeptical about the addition of peanut butter, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it paired with the strawberries. And, as expected, the combination of peanut butter and chocolate was a hit. I would rate this an 8.5 out of 10, but there are a few adjustments I would make next time.
Initially, I only froze the dessert for 30 minutes due to impatience and fading daylight (hello, January!). While the chocolate was adequately frozen, the peanut butter was not, making it difficult to cut. It is best to follow the recommended freezing time and freeze overnight for optimal results.
Additionally, the addition of flaky salt may not be necessary, especially if using salted peanut butter. Although I appreciate the contrast of sweet and salty flavors, it caused moisture to form on top of the chocolate in the freezer. Furthermore, I might choose a lighter chocolate next time, perhaps a semi-sweet variety that complements the peanut butter better. However, this is purely a personal preference.
