According to a statement from Kensington Palace, the princess has returned to her home in Windsor and is reportedly “making good progress”. She left the London Clinic private hospital without making a public appearance. The specific details of the surgery have not been disclosed, but it is anticipated that the princess will require several months to recuperate. Having spent 13 nights in the hospital following the surgery, she is not expected to resume official duties until after Easter. Kensington Palace expressed the Prince and Princess of Wales’ gratitude to the medical team at the central London hospital and for the “well wishes” they have received from around the world. The palace statement also mentioned that the princess will “continue her recovery” from home. The 42-year-old princess was in the same private hospital as the King, who visited her before undergoing a procedure for an enlarged prostate on Friday. The King is currently still in hospital following treatment for a benign prostate problem, a non-cancerous condition that is common among older men, as per the NHS. Approximately one in three men over the age of 50 may experience some symptoms of an enlarged prostate, which is a gland located just below the bladder. The decision for 75-year-old King Charles to undergo a “corrective procedure” for his prostate was made public to encourage other men to have regular prostate checks.
