This isn’t the first time the creators of Celeste have reimagined the game. On the third anniversary, Maddy Makes Games released a semi-sequel to Pico-8, a virtual machine that emulates the style of 8-bit PCs from the 1980s. It also features the dialogue that follows the events of the first game and is described as a sort of sequel. In a statement released last year, it was referred to as “an important title.” Celeste 64 is currently available for download on Windows PC, with a macOS version on the way.
