We previously learned about the upcoming sci-fi action game Judas, from the creator of BioShock, Ken Levine. And today, we have a new trailer that gives off BioShock horror vibes. Unveiled as one of the few announcements during the January 2024 State of Play, Ghost Story Games presented an updated look. Although no release date was provided, the screenshots indicate that it is “currently in development for PS5.” It is also set to be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S.Judas State of Play TrailerThe parent company of Ghost Story Games, Take-Two Interactive, announced in February the scheduled release of the game in late March 2025. Judas was reported to have been in “development hell” before its reveal. Several months after the report at the 2022 Game Awards, Ghost Story Games shared the first glimpse of Judas. In a press release, Ken Levine expressed, “We established Ghost Story Games to build on the legacy of System Shock 2, BioShock, and BioShock Infinite. With Judas, we have crafted a new world and set of characters while delving into various single-player, first-person shooter modes.” The press release explains that the trailer for “Who is Judas” offers substantial depth. The game is set in the Mayflower, a city within a spaceship where inhabitants are conditioned to fight each other for minor infractions, while machines control all aspects of commerce, technology, and government. You, as Judas, are the central figure in challenging events within an extraordinary narrative featuring new characters to encounter and influence, resulting in a world where every decision impacts the unfolding story. It further states that “The leaders attempted to mold you into something you are not: a model citizen,” and that you “initiated a disruptive revolution to dismantle everything.” Additionally, today’s stream features new details on Death Stranding 2, new reveals, Hideo Kojima’s spy game, and the launch of Silent Hill: The Short Message.
