Street Fighter 6 Reveals Release Date and Fighting Pass in New Trailer

As anticipated, a new trailer for Street Fighter 6 unveiled the release date and details of the next DLC, featuring the arrival of Ed. Capcom announced the Ed Arrives Fighting Pass for SF6, showcasing the new content and updates to the Battle Hub in a trailer. The fighter’s release date was also revealed in the trailer. While no footage of Ed’s action was shown, the trailer displayed the avatar’s new attire in the pass, which includes his white Street Fighter 5 outfit with a jacket resembling his school uniform and boxing gear reminiscent of his previous design. Additionally, Captain Commando will be featured as a premium prize in the game, along with SF5-themed content for Ed, Falke, and Balrog, such as screenshots, wallpapers, titles, emotes, and stickers. The new Fighting Pass is set to launch on February 1, and the update will introduce significant changes to the Battle Hub the following month. The SF6 lobby will adopt a black theme ahead of Capcom Cup X, with branded elements throughout, alongside alterations to the ring area and the addition of shopping, gameplay, and victory predictions. Although not mentioned in the video, Capcom confirmed that Ed will be released on February 27, immediately following the Capcom Cup. This announcement raises the possibility of Ed being available for attendees and participants at the Capcom Cup event. Earlier this month, Capcom teased the commencement of Ed’s World Tour in a trailer, indicating that upcoming gameplay and direction videos might be unveiled in the lead-up to Capcom Cup. The question remains about Ed’s gameplay in SF6, as his control system in SF5 is similar to the Modern controls in the new game, hinting at a more traditional approach this time. Capcom Cup is scheduled to take place from Feb. 16-25, and the new trailer can be viewed below.
