The developer Atlus has confirmed that there are no immediate plans for a bigger version of Persona 3 Reload, similar to Persona 4’s Golden or Persona 5’s Royal. In an interview with GamerWK, translated by Persona Central, Persona Team’s production manager Kazuhisa Wada reassured fans that they can purchase Persona 3 Reload without worrying about needing to upgrade in the near future. He stated, “Currently, we are not considering a remake like Persona 5 to Persona 5 Royal, which involved major changes and additions to the original title. Fans can rest assured knowing that Persona 3 Reload offers a complete experience.” This contrasts with the releases of Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal, which added significant story and gameplay content several years after the initial launch, often extending the game’s already extensive playtime. The original Persona 3 had two subsequent versions in the form of Persona 3 FES and Persona 3 Portable, both of which introduced various changes, including a different protagonist in the story. Persona 3 Reload is a complete remake of the original version and does not include the same level of additional content, leading some fans to wonder if this will change in the future. Wada’s statement aligns with Atlus’ typical release schedule, as expanded versions usually arrive three or four years after the original game. Similarly, any potential expansion for Persona 3 Reload is not expected until at least 2027.
