The highly-anticipated superyacht cruise by Ritz-Carlton has finally started, over three years later than originally planned.

Evrima, the first of three custom-built yachts in the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, embarked on a seven-night cruise from Barcelona, Spain to Nice, France on October 15.

The 190-meter yacht can accommodate 298 passengers and features 149 suites with private terraces, floor-to-ceiling windows, an infinity pool, a wine vault, a spa, a nightclub, and its own marina.

Rates for the one-week cruise start at $6,400 per person for Mediterranean voyages and $5,100 per person for Caribbean voyages. Accommodation options range from standard cabins to two-story loft-style apartments and an owner’s suite with a private hot tub.

Guests who choose these luxury cruises will experience service at a gold standard, with a high staff-to-guest ratio, fine dining, complimentary water sports, and onboard entertainment.

There is also a dedicated children’s facility with activities for ages four to twelve.

Evrima, which means discovery in Greek, will sail to various destinations in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Central America, and South America, with most cruises lasting seven to ten nights.

Two more luxury yachts, Ilma and Luminara, are currently being built in France at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard, following Evrima.

Ritz-Carlton announced its plans to enter the luxury yachting industry in 2017, describing it as a hybrid between luxury cruising and yachting.

According to Douglas Prothero, the CEO of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, the brand aims to revolutionize the luxury cruising industry by offering unique getaways, curated itineraries, insider access, and personalized experiences.

Every aspect of the luxury yachting experience was considered when designing Evrima, and the aim is to provide unforgettable journeys for both experienced cruisers and newcomers to the industry.

All three superyachts will be available for private charter, although the charter prices have not been disclosed.

According to Chris Gabaldon, the Senior Vice President for Luxury Brands at Marriott International, the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection marks an exciting new chapter for the brand.

The launch of Evrima was delayed multiple times due to supply chain issues and the global pandemic.

Recently, Four Seasons also announced plans for their first superyacht, which is expected to enter service in 2025.
