Those present witnessed the man experiencing blood gushing from his nose and mouth, causing other passengers to scream in distress. Reportedly, the man boarded the Lufthansa flight from Bangkok to Munich accompanied by his wife. Witnesses, Martin and Karin Missfelder, who were seated behind the couple, said that the man appeared unwell when boarding the plane. According to Karin Missfelder, he was sweating profusely and breathing rapidly. She further mentioned that the crew seemed hesitant, but eventually allowed the man to remain on the flight despite concerns raised by her, due to her background as a nursing specialist at the University Hospital in Switzerland. The situation escalated when the man began to deteriorate, and despite the presence of a doctor, little was done to address his condition beyond a brief examination. According to Martin Missfelder, the man lost “liters of blood,” with some of it splattering onto the aircraft’s walls, causing panic among passengers. Flight attendants intervened to attempt resuscitation, but unfortunately, the man did not survive. The flight, which departed from Bangkok International Airport at 12:07 a.m., eventually had to divert back to the same location due to the tragic events. The deceased man was carried into the galley as the plane returned to the airport. Blick confirmed the death with a representative from Lufthansa. At the time of publication, Lufthansa had not responded to requests for comments. Last year, Lufthansa made headlines when a flight from Texas to Germany encountered severe turbulence, resulting in passengers and food being tossed into the air. One passenger described it as feeling like being in the eye of a tornado and recounted hitting her head on the plane’s ceiling. Eventually, the flight made an emergency landing near Washington, DC.
