American Airlines has announced that it will be cutting over 320 jobs in North Texas as part of a restructuring of its customer service team. This move is intended to enable the airline to offer even better support to its customers in the future. The company stated that it is creating a new Customer Success team that will focus on providing improved support to customers with more complex travel needs.

Additionally, the reconfiguration will also affect 335 workers in Phoenix, as reported by The Dallas Morning News. The Customer Success team will consist of 135 employees after the reorganization. The airline mentioned that the affected employees, who are not part of a union, can apply for over 800 current job openings within the company, including positions on the restructured Customer Success team.

American Airlines assured that employees whose roles have been eliminated and who do not find alternative employment within the company or are eligible to retire will be provided with severance pay. Those seeking jobs outside of the company will receive outplacement support as well. The airline also mentioned that the affected customer team members will continue to work and be paid until March 30.
