The Apple Vision Pro doesn’t have any ports other than a magnetic connector for the battery, so it’s not clear how data can be transferred between the Vision Pro and another device using a cable. However, Apple has recently announced a solution – the “Developer Strap,” an accessory that adds a USB-C port to the Vision Pro. The Vision Pro now comes with a USB-C port, provided with a new Support Cable. This port is designed to support debugging and programming without relying on a wireless network. It’s not explicitly stated whether the add-on also supports file transfers. Although devices like Apple TV and Apple Watch lack a USB port for development, transferring visionOS applications that utilize 3D technology can be quite challenging over Wi-Fi. It’s noteworthy that the Projection Cable comes with a built-in speaker, replacing the Standard Audio Cable that comes with the Vision Pro. Apple emphasizes that the accessory is intended for developers (via Daring Fireball). The strap is only available on the Apple Developer website, not through the Apple Store, and is accessible for purchase only by registered developer accounts in the US, priced at $299. Currently, customers in the US can not only purchase the Apple Vision Pro but also receive a demonstration at the nearest Apple Store. These demos, lasting 25 minutes, will cover how to use Vision Pro, its features and available software, and more. Apple has also announced that the Vision Pro will be available in several other countries later this year.
