In a recent statement, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook expressed his confidence in the “big opportunity for Apple with AI,” and hinted at an upcoming announcement later in the year. While no specifics were disclosed, any revelations will likely come during Apple’s June event, the WWDC, where the company typically unveils its latest products. During the last WWDC, Apple revealed its Vision Pro, newly priced at $3,500, along with the launch of the latest Macbook Pro laptops.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman anticipates that the next iOS update, iOS 18, is being viewed within the company as possibly the most substantial update in its history, potentially driven by the escalating excitement around AI. Gurman also revealed that Apple has been experimenting with AI tools for integration into its devices, including an internal ChatGPT bot called Apple GPT, as well as an AI-powered Siri enhancement.
Looking ahead, Cook emphasized the company’s commitment to embracing technologies like artificial intelligence, hinting that more details about their AI initiatives will be shared later this year. CNBC has reported that Apple aims to rival leading AI players such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, OpenAI, and others.
