When it comes to Apple’s Pro line of phones, the latest iPhone 15 Pro has introduced some noteworthy changes compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro. Despite having the same price of $999 in the US as the 2022 model, the iPhone 15 Pro features a new customization button instead of the traditional silent switch, a lighter titanium design, and a redesigned A17 Pro chip that aims to revolutionize Apple’s chip design. Internationally, the starting price for the iPhone 15 Pro is $999 in the UK, which is $100 cheaper than the base price of the iPhone 14 Pro. In Australia, the starting price for the iPhone 15 Pro is AU$1,849 – AU$50 more than the base price of the iPhone 14 Pro.
Another change is the switch from Lightning port to USB-C for wired charging. This allows users to use the same plug to charge Macs, iPads, and USB-C-equipped AirPods Pro. It also enables faster file transfers with USB 3.0 speeds, which is beneficial for transferring large photo and video files.

In terms of charging, the iPhone 15 Pro offers similar performance to the iPhone 14 Pro when using Lightning cables. However, the advantage of USB-C cables is that they are more widely available and cheaper. Apple includes a USB-C cable in the box, although it charges $29 for a dongle that allows older Lightning plugs to be used.
There are several aspects that remain unchanged between the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro. Both phones have the same large screens with Dynamic Island, camera settings, Face ID facial recognition, operating on iOS 17, supporting 5G, and being waterproof and dustproof with an IP68 rating. Here’s a comparison of the specifications of the two phones:
