Apple’s upcoming Vision Pro AR/VR headset is set to feature a collection of specialized Microsoft 365 apps upon its launch on February 2. These will include Groups, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Loop. Apple has been positioning the Vision Pro as a tool for enhancing productivity, so the addition of Microsoft’s products is expected to provide users with enhanced efficiency. For instance, PowerPoint comes with an immersive feature that enables users to practice delivering presentations to a lifelike audience. Excel facilitates seamless document transfers to other programs through its drag and drop functionality. MicrosoftMicrosoft Word will come with a review system that helps avoid distractions, allowing users to finally complete that book they’ve been working on for 15 years. Teams will leverage the headset’s capabilities to allow digital avatars to attend work meetings and facilitate interactive engagement. This feature will also be available on the Zoom app for Apple Vision Pro. Headset owners will also have access to Microsoft’s AI-powered Copilot service, enabling them to use natural language to instruct a digital assistant to create drawings, summarize documents and develop PowerPoint presentations. There has been speculation about the availability of certain apps at launch, such as Netflix and YouTube, so it’s reassuring to know that early adopters won’t be restricted to using only Apple-branded apps.
