COVID is on the rise once again in Palm Beach County.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The latest numbers released by the Florida Department of Health indicate that COVID is surging in Palm Beach County, although not as severe as in 2020 or 2021.
In 2024, there have been at least 4,097 confirmed COVID cases in Palm Beach County, with only cases reported to medical professionals included in this count. Home tests resulting in a positive result that have not been verified by doctors are not part of this tally. This is a significant increase from the 1,260 cases reported in November and the 3,077 recorded in December.
There is a notable increase in the death count as well. In October, 36 people died from COVID in Palm Beach County, followed by 19 in November, and 23 in December. Although these numbers are concerning, they are lower compared to this time a year ago. In December 2022, the death count was 82 in Palm Beach County, and 119 in January 2023.
While there is no official mandate for mask-wearing in Palm Beach County, medical professionals across the nation suggest that individuals vulnerable to COVID or other viruses consider wearing masks in public.
