Nevertheless, [Projects with Red] drew inspiration from this idea and devised their own gem-like panels arranged in parallel lines.
The panels can also function as a large clock, if desired. Each irregular hexagonal stone has ten connection points to link the layers. 3D printed housings for each component serve as physical connections, while wires and connectors hanging from the back provide easy linkage. The units are encapsulated in black housings with sturdy lids and transparent acrylic sheets acting as diffusers.
