Dollywood, the theme park owned by Dolly Parton, has recently been awarded three prestigious Golden Ticket Awards by industry magazine Amusement Today.
The awards were given in three categories: Best Kids’ Area, Best Guest Experience, and Best Christmas Event of 2021, according to a press release from Dollywood.
In a statement, Dolly Parton expressed her pride in receiving these awards, stating that it reflects the park’s commitment to providing a memorable experience for its visitors.
Dollywood has consistently won the Best Guest Experience category, which focuses on friendliness, cleanliness, and value, for three consecutive years, with the exception of 2020 when the awards were not presented, the press release stated.
Similarly, Dollywood’s Wildwood Grove area has won the Best Kids’ Area award for the past three years.
The Smoky Mountain Christmas event at Dollywood, a beloved tradition, has won the Golden Ticket Award for Best Christmas Event for 14 years in a row.
The theme park was also a finalist in four other categories, including Most Beautiful Park, Best Food, and Best Park.

In addition to these awards, two of Dollywood’s roller coasters were also recognized. The Lightning Rod ride ranked 11th on the list of top 50 steel roller coasters of 2022, while the Thunderhead ride ranked 10th on the list of top 50 wooden roller coasters of 2022, according to the rankings on the Golden Ticket Awards website.
The Golden Ticket Awards, announced at a ceremony in San Antonio, Texas, are calculated based on a detailed survey conducted by Amusement Today.
