Bernard Arnault, the Chairman and CEO of Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), has taken over Elon Musk to become the wealthiest man globally. According to Forbes, the French billionaire and his family now hold a net worth of $207.6 billion, marking a $23.6 billion increase. On the other hand, Elon Musk’s net worth experienced a 13% decline, dropping to $204.7 billion, resulting in a loss of over $18 billion. This shift in rankings comes following a period of intense wealth rivalry between the two figures, with Arnault reportedly claiming the top position in late 2022. The market cap of LVMH, the driving force behind renowned luxury brands like Dior, Bulgari, and Sephora, has surged to $388.8 billion, in contrast to Tesla’s $586.14 billion, as per the report. As per the real-time billionaires list by Forbes, the top 10 richest individuals in the world are: Bernard Arnault & Family ($207.6 billion), Elon Musk ($204.7 billion), Jeff Bezos ($181.3 billion), Larry Ellison ($142.2 billion), Mark Zuckerberg (139.1 billion), Warren Buffett ($127.2 billion), Larry Page ($127.1 billion), Bill Gates ($122.9 billion), Sergey Brin ($121.7 billion), and Steve Ballmer ($118.8 billion). However, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index maintains that Elon Musk remains the wealthiest man globally, with a net worth of $199 billion. Following Musk on the list is Jeff Bezos, the founder of the e-commerce behemoth Amazon, with a wealth of $184 billion. Meanwhile, Bernard Arnault is positioned third on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with a $183 billion net worth. In another development, in April last year, Arnault’s fortune soared to over $200 billion as his company’s shares hit an all-time high, making him the third person to achieve this milestone, following Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. During the same period, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index registered a $2.4 billion rise in Arnault’s net worth to $201 billion. This year, thanks to the soaring demand for luxury goods, Arnault’s fortune has surged by $39 billion, driven by a 30% increase in LVMH shares.
