Each individual panel of the PlayStation 5 can be customized, prompting us to opt for a unique design. Unlike the original PS5, the black bar running down the middle of the new model divides each panel into four pieces instead of two, providing the opportunity to create striking images using Sony’s new “Deep Earth” panels.
It resembles the flags of multiple countries, which we found intriguing. We had the opportunity to explore three new releases on Friday, which was quite exciting. Each cover is priced at $60, so unless you’re willing to splurge $180 for the ultimate PS5 display, it’s advisable to settle for one. Among the three colors in the new series, red is the most straightforward, including Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver. It offers a bright yet deep light that complements both strong and soft tones. The maroon Cosmic Red DualSense controller, akin to the Volcanic Red, boasts a classic red on black color layout. The blue has a pleasant satin finish, blending well with the black color. Lastly, the silver option, reminiscent of bare metal, wasn’t appealing to me due to its association with Cybertruck. Swapping out any cover is simple as they are labeled with the classic PlayStation “style” buttons. However, a bit of effort is required to remove each panel, as they are firmly attached. The plates offer the potential for captivating designs in the future.
