After the initial days of playing Helldivers 2, it appears to be a well-crafted and enjoyable game, whether played alone or with a group. I look forward to exploring its various missions and discovering the array of weapons, emotes, and abilities. The campaign against bugs and alien robots still lies ahead, and thus, I am not yet ready to deliver a final review. However, I am eager to venture into new and engaging settings, encounter unfamiliar life forms, and eliminate them for the honor of Super Earth. Helldivers 2 introduces the official propaganda narrative, presenting the conflict where Super Earth is under attack by robotic Automatons and Terminids, and throws players into Helldiver Basic Training. The game’s Galactic War mode allows players to take on missions on Automaton or Terminid fronts, each with a variety of unique objectives. Despite starting with only basic weapons, the shooting experience is quite immersive, especially with the DualSense haptics, and requires teamwork for success. The game also emphasizes resource management, as players must make strategic decisions regarding their limited resources while facing hordes of enemies. Helldivers 2 features cooldowns for various abilities, encouraging careful selection and interaction with teammates. The game offers numerous rewards and unlockables, adding depth to the gameplay. From my initial experience, I can attest that Helldivers 2 provides an ample amount of content without necessitating additional purchases. Additionally, the game introduces exciting unlockable features and items, adding new dimensions to the gameplay. While the game offers a wide range of content, the abundance of unlockables can sometimes make decision-making challenging. However, the absence of pressure to make in-game purchases is a refreshing aspect of Helldivers 2. Before providing a final review and rating, I aim to further explore the game’s storyline and engage with the varied enemies. Now, I look forward to continuing my journey in Helldivers 2 and completing this review in the coming week. After all, Managed Democracy doesn’t spread on its own!
