According to app intelligence company Appfigures, Threads saw 12 million new downloads on Apple’s App Store, ranking it No. 4, and 16 million downloads on Google Play, ranking it No. 8. Combined, it was the No. 1 app for new installations, highlighting its continued growth.

However, it made a comeback in December, potentially influenced by Meta’s advertising efforts on Facebook. There are now approximately 160 million users on Threads. Its association with the “fediverse” and recent updates are also contributing to its growth. Additionally, the app has opened up for integration with ActivityPub, allowing for connectivity across various platforms.
