According to Lebanese security sources, an Israeli drone strike targeted a car north of Sidon in southern Lebanon on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, one of whom was a member of Hezbollah. The strike was initially believed to have targeted a figure associated with Hamas, but the intended target reportedly survived the incident. Israeli media, citing Lebanese sources, identified the Hamas-associated individual as Bassel Saleh, who was reportedly injured in the strike, with his current condition remaining unknown. The strike occurred on the Wadi al-Zaina road in the town of Jadeira, as reported on various social networks in Lebanon. Eyewitnesses observed two drones flying over the area for several hours before two consecutive explosions were heard, according to Israeli media. The location of the strike is approximately 55 km from the Israeli border. After the initial strike, two men on a motorcycle attempted to assist but were targeted by a second missile. They sought shelter with a young Syrian who happened to be passing through the area. Lebanese networks reported that Khalil Fars from the town of Aitaroun near the Israeli border was among those killed in the attack. Conflicting reports emerged, with Sky News stating that the target was a member of Hezbollah, while other networks, including Al-Arabiya, reported them as members of Hamas. The Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar documented ambulance crews tending to four injured individuals at a nearby church. This marks the second attack in Sidon attributed to Israel, and it is considered one of the more distant airstrikes since the beginning of the conflict, following the strike in Beirut that targeted Saleh al-Arouri.
