Hideo Kojima, known for his unique style in game development, is taking a break from the unusual with his new project. During the State of Play presentation on January 31st, he announced a return to the espionage genre with a new game called Physint.

Despite not revealing any video or artwork, Kojima shared that Physint will be based on a new, original intellectual property. This game is set to begin development after the release of Kojima Productions’ “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach,” which is expected to launch in 2025.

Kojima teased that Physint will be more than just a game, describing it as “a film at the same time in terms of appearance, story, theme, gameplay, actors, fashion, and voice.” Beyond this intriguing statement, no further details were provided, with Kojima urging fans to stay tuned for further announcements.

Additionally, it was hinted that Physint may be a collaboration with Sony, though it’s unclear if the game will be a PlayStation exclusive. Kojima also revealed that the next project will bring an end to his current work, suggesting a major undertaking for the renowned game developer.

While Physint is still in the distant future, Kojima Productions is busy with other projects. They recently unveiled “OD,” an exclusive Xbox game created in partnership with Jordan Peele, the director of “Get Out.” With their hands full, Kojima and his team are certainly keeping busy, and fans can look forward to learning more about their upcoming endeavors.
