The anticipated return of the beloved Shamrock Shake is just around the corner. McDonald’s has announced that the mint-flavored, green-tinted drink, which is a yearly menu staple, will be available starting Monday, Feb. 5, at participating locations across the country for a limited time. The launch date is earlier than last year’s return on Feb. 20. Alongside the Shamrock Shake, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry will also make a comeback, featuring crushed Oreo cookies. This special drink was introduced in February 2020 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Shamrock Shake’s debut. The iconic Shamrock Shake, first introduced in 1970, is made with vanilla soft-serve ice cream, artificially flavored minty green syrup, and whipped topping, with prices ranging from $3 to $4 based on size. In terms of calories, a medium Shamrock Shake contains 540 calories, compared to 570 for a medium vanilla shake and 650 for a chocolate shake. Meanwhile, an Oreo Shamrock McFlurry has 560 calories, slightly more than a regular Oreo McFlurry with 510 calories.
