Ohio health officials advised the public of a potential measles exposure on Monday after an individual passed through the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport during the last weekend of the previous month. People who were at Terminal A of the airport between 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Jan. 27 and 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 might have been exposed to measles, according to a news release from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). The ODH is currently collaborating with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other state and local health officials to identify and notify individuals who may have been exposed, including reaching out to potentially exposed passengers on specific flights. The agency emphasized that the warning is issued “out of an abundance of caution” and is linked to a measles-infected child from Montgomery County, as reported by health officials on Saturday. Measles exposure warning for travelers at Cincinnati airport, say Ohio health officials The ODH is actively working to reach out to potentially exposed passengers (Reuters/Lindsey Wasson, File)Symptoms typically manifest in two phases, starting with a high fever of more than 101 degrees, runny nose, watery red eyes, and a cough that begins 7 to 14 days after exposure, health officials explained.
