Exciting news for those interested in exploring Meta’s Horizon World without needing to purchase an Oculus Quest headset: the platform will soon be available on mobile and web. Facebook’s parent company, Meta, announced that in the coming months, people will be able to access Horizon Worlds through the Meta Quest mobile app and any internet browser.
“The metaverse should be accessible to everyone, regardless of the device they own,” said Meta in a news release. “Expanding access to more platforms is a step towards realizing that vision and making it available to a wider audience.”
Meta also shared that a few lucky individuals can already enter the world of Super Rumble through the Meta Quest Android app, and an iOS app will be released in the next few weeks. The online version of the platform is currently available for advanced access, and interested users can sign up on the waiting list.
“Early access will gradually be rolled out to more users as we gather feedback and improve the experience,” Meta added.
Furthermore, Meta confirmed that more countries will be added to the platform in the coming months.
