Netflix has revealed that it spent a whopping $318.7 million on making The Witcher, including two seasons of the series and the prequel. Based on the best-selling video game by Polish developer CD Projekt Red, the series follows the story of silver-haired Henry Cavill as the monster-hunting Witcher Geralt of Rivia. In the first season, the show was watched by 76 million households in its first four weeks, making it one of the most-watched original series launches on Netflix. Despite the departure of Cavill, plans are in place for a third, fourth, and fifth season, and now a spin-off series featuring the Rats.
