Samsung has not confirmed which new Galaxy AI features from the Galaxy S24 series will be available on older devices. However, a comparison page from Samsung UK and a detailed Reddit post have suggested that four AI-powered features could be coming to older Galaxy smartphones.
This is the Coolest Galaxy S24 AI Feature Few Are Talking About These features include Google Circle to Search, which is similar to what’s available on Pixel devices, as well as Live Translate, Note Assist, and Photo Assist. These three are integrated into bundled apps as part of the OneUI experience. For instance, Live Translate is accessible within the Samsung Dialer app, while Note Assist is within Samsung Notes, and Photo Assist is available through the Gallery developer app. I searched extensively on various Android blogs but couldn’t find a similar Samsung UK comparison page with matching images. During its Unpacked launch event, Samsung mentioned that it would bring some of the Galaxy AI features to previous devices, specifically mentioning users of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9, with no further details. I reached out to Samsung for more information. Code sleuth Mishaal Rahman has pointed out that at least seven mentioned items are not included in the list. These missing items include transcription assistance as part of Samsung Keyboard, Transcript Assist as part of Samsung Voice Recorder, and advanced paper creation. Notably absent is Instant Slow-mo, which is undoubtedly a key Galaxy AI feature. It would be helpful if Samsung were to release a support page with comprehensive details. It’s evident that people are keen on these advancements, yet it remains to be seen whether AI alone will be the driving force behind mobile sales. Still, with the launch of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, being the final Android smartphone of the year, there’s much anticipation surrounding what the Galaxy AI has in store.
