September 13, 2023

Prepare for a fresh color scheme with the iPhone 15. Apple introduced the new iPhone at its annual September event, alongside the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.

The iPhone 15 will be available in pink, yellow, green, blue, and black.

The iPhone 15 Pro will also come in four titanium options: black, white, blue, and natural. The Pro Max will also have four-tone titanium support. Both models will be available for pre-order on Friday, September 15, and in stores on September 22. Check out the best iPhone deals here.

According to Apple, the iPhone 15 is the first phone to feature “integrated into a permanent tinted glass” colors. By using metal ions, Apple can shape the glass on the back, resulting in the creation of these new colors. The iPhone 15 models have a matte finish, while the titanium 15 Pro and Pro Max come with a matte finish as well.

Apple’s new pink love: Pink iPhone 15 and Apple Watch

If you’re getting a Barbie vibe from Apple’s Wonderlust experience, you’re not alone.

Apple’s presentations at the event this week, whether it was about the iPhones or the Apple Watches, featured a lot of pink. The introduction of the iPhone 15 started with a video in pink fur, showcasing a world filled with metallic pink before revealing the pink iPhone 15, which later appeared in different colors.

In the Apple Watch segment, pink took center stage. The new Apple Watch Series 9 flaunted its new pink color, and the presentation showcased other colors transitioning into an electric pink glow.

So, one may wonder, why the sudden love for pink from Apple? One possible explanation lies in the Barbie movie trend that has been prominent this summer. The cultural phenomenon around the movie, with Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie leading the charge, has embraced the pink aesthetic associated with Barbie. From movie advertisements to “Barbie-core” fashion, pink has become highly popular.

While Apple’s new product doesn’t exactly match the Barbie pink shade that has gained popularity in recent months, it’s interesting to see the release of the pink iPhone now. Whether Barbie inspired this new color or not remains uncertain.

Titanium tones: iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models

Titanium was also a major highlight of Apple’s announcements. Rumors prior to the launch hinted at the inclusion of black versions of the new iPhone models. Now we know that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will come in black, black colors.

Similar to the original iPhone 15 color names, the titanium color names are simple: black titanium, white titanium, blue titanium, and natural titanium.

These colors provide a stark contrast to the lighter and more vibrant iPhone 15s. The Pro and Pro Max models exude elegance with their black color and sleek metal finish. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max take inspiration from Barbie’s world for the iPhone 15 series.

The Pro models’ color scheme aligns with Apple’s design philosophy. When the iPhone 14 was launched last year, it came in blue, purple, midnight, starlight, and Product Red. In a surprising move in March, Apple introduced a new pastel yellow color for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. It’s possible that Apple has similar plans for the new iPhone 15, perhaps with another high-end addition. Only time will tell.
