OnePlus is incorporating Galaxy S24 and Pixel-like AI capabilities into its premium phones

It is unclear if OnePlus will roll out the same feature to global devices. OnePlus appears to be joining the smartphone AI trend. Without mentioning the forthcoming AI features of the OnePlus 12 during its worldwide launch, the Chinese phone manufacturer is now releasing the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 11. With the assistance of Reddit user milkyteapls and regular Android Authority contributor Mishaal Rahman, OnePlus’ AI capabilities are currently being incorporated into the latest Color OS update in China. Although international OnePlus phones operate on Oxygen OS, the Chinese models use Color OS. There is minimal distinction between the two platforms other than their names. Nonetheless, the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 12 are receiving new AI functionalities with the February Color OS 14 update. This includes an “AI Summarizer” that generates a summary of calls “by extracting time, location, things, and other important information from your calls.” While the name resembles what Samsung offers with Galaxy AI, the functionality is different. Samsung’s feature is designed to summarize documents, websites, and documents, whereas the OnePlus tool is solely intended for summarizing phone recordings. Furthermore, OnePlus is also touting the “Remover,” which is essentially a smart photo editing tool that can remove undesirable objects or people from photos. It bears a resemblance to the Magic Eraser on Pixel phones and Samsung’s new AI editing tool. In addition to the aforementioned features, OnePlus is also promoting “Breeno Touch.” Breeno is apparently OPPO and OnePlus’ digital assistant in China, and now it can “recognize what’s on the screen and provide quick access to relevant services,” as stated by OnePlus in its changelog. Aside from OnePlus’ AI features, it seems that Color OS is also receiving some AI improvements.
