Two colliding galaxies known as UGC 05028 and UGC 05029, or Arp 300, are currently in the process of merging. The smaller UGC 05028 has been pulled and twisted by the larger UGC 05029’s powerful gravitational field, resulting in an irregular structure. This structure, previously invisible from ground-based telescopes, is now clearly visible in new images captured by the Hubble Space Telescope.
