Pixel 8 Super Bowl ad is highlighting the camera and Guided Frame

Google is set to air a Pixel ad during the Super Bowl, highlighting the use of the Guided Frame camera. This technology was introduced on the Pixel 7 to assist individuals who are visually impaired in capturing selfies through audio prompts, haptic feedback, and various animations. The Pixel 8 has expanded this support to the rear camera, enabling Guided Frame to also detect objects such as dogs and food, alongside faces. The Super Bowl ad features a blind man and his friend, showcasing their journey and the ability of the blind individual to capture important moments using the Guided Frame AI feature. Google refers to Guided Frame as an “AI feature” for active content recognition, powered by Google AI to recognize and communicate content to users. The ad was directed by Adam Morse, who is blindfolded to translate the blind experience into a visual reality, allowing sighted individuals to witness it as well. The full Pixel 8 ad is scheduled to air during the Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11. This ad follows the announcement of the Pixel 6 Real Tone in 2022 and last year’s Pixel 7 Magic Eraser clip. It is yet to be seen if other segments of the company will also make appearances.
