The Cronus Zen is a $100 hardware device that claims to offer “controller integration,” enabling users to connect a variety of controllers to different gaming platforms, and even apply scripting to enhance gameplay through “GamePacks.” However, the latest PlayStation 5 software update (24.01-08.60.00) has rendered the Cronus Zen unable to connect. Although Cronus mentions that the update is not mandatory, they have not provided a clear timeline for resolving the issue, leaving a “Remote Play Workaround” as a temporary solution. Notably, the availability of GamePacks for popular online games has drawn the attention of both gamers and Sony, with options such as aim assist, anti-recoil, and fire mods. Console manufacturers, including Microsoft, have previously taken action against such hardware cheats, and game developers have also made efforts to combat devices like the Cronus Zen. Despite these measures, there is still a demand for these devices among certain segments of the gaming community.
