PlayStation has announced the upcoming free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The February selection features Foamstars, a new 4v4 multiplayer shooter set to release on February 6. While it may share some similarities with Splatoon, it differentiates itself through its focus on controlling the battlefield and using bubbles to dominate the environment. Each character possesses a unique Superstar ability to master, with the game offering three multiplayer modes – Smash the Star, Happy Bath Survival, and Rubber Duck Party – accompanied by three maps for each mode. In addition to PvP modes, Foamstars will also include PvE modes for players to experience. Square Enix has already planned a year’s worth of content for Foamstars, including new cosmetics, playable characters, maps, and color variations to be added post-launch. Rollerdrome, another game in the lineup, can be described as a fast-paced and enjoyable skating experience combined with elements of third-person shooters. “Roll7 delivers an exciting spin on skating, incorporating some of the best elements to create a distinctive third-person shooter experience,” as noted by Phil Hornshaw. Steelrising, the third game offered, presents a captivating journey through an alternate version of Paris. It encompasses standard genre features such as power bars, challenging boss fights, and customizable difficulty options to cater to individual preferences. The PlayStation Plus free games for February 2024 will be available from February 6 to March 4, including Foamstars for PS5 and PS4, Rollerdrome for PS5 and PS4, and Steelrising exclusively for PS5.
