Plex has declared that it will not develop a dedicated Vision Pro app, following the lead of Netflix. A Plex employee confirmed on Reddit that there is no Plex app in the works for the Apple Vision Pro. Unlike Netflix and YouTube, Plex still supports the use of iPad apps on the Vision Pro, which may be a positive for Plex users. However, this does not provide the same level of functionality as a dedicated Vision Pro app. In similar developments, Infuse is reportedly working on a dedicated Vision Pro service. Infuse is a popular video player for Apple devices and can serve as a Plex server front end, allowing users to sign in with their Plex account and utilize Infuse to browse their Plex library and play content. Infuse has expressed excitement about the Apple Vision Pro and is actively working on developing an exclusive Infuse experience for this new hardware by 2024. Interested users can follow the progress and offer feedback as the first build of visionOS will initially be based on the iPad version of Infuse, acknowledging that it will be a work in progress with numerous bugs and issues. Users who wish to participate in the Infuse beta for Apple Vision Pro can sign up on the company’s website. Follow Chance: Thread, Twitter, Instagram, and Mastodon.
