A group of at least 10 orcas have been trapped by sea ice off the northern coast of Japan, as shown in drone footage from Tuesday morning. The footage, released by local wildlife organization Wildlife Pro, depicted the killer whales struggling with their heads above the frozen waters off Hokkaido, Japan.
Local authorities informed public broadcaster NHK that the coast guard is unable to rescue the whales due to the thickness of the surrounding ice, as reported by BBC News.
