Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly experiences anxiety when she occasionally watches Fox News’ “The Five” due to the critical commentary directed at her, according to a report. An ex-aide to the vice president revealed that the constant criticism from Fox News personalities, including questioning her leadership skills and past relationships, has caused her high anxiety.
In a June broadcast of “The Five,” co-host Greg Gutfeld expressed concern about the possibility of Harris stepping in as president after Biden, describing it as “scary.” Additionally, co-host Jessica Tarlov disputed fellow panelist Jesse Watters’ insinuation that Harris’ past romantic relationship with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown was a factor in her political success.
On the other hand, President Joe Biden is reported to be a regular viewer of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” Axios has also mentioned Biden’s interactions with the show’s co-host, Joe Scarborough, a former GOP congressman, as well as other panelists and commentators such as Mike Barnicle, Richard Haass, and historian Jon Meacham, who has written speeches for Biden.
Meacham faced controversy when it was revealed that he failed to disclose writing Biden’s acceptance speech after the 2020 election, resulting in MSNBC discontinuing payments for his contribution. However, he is still allowed to appear on the network as a commentator. Harris is said to be a fan of “Morning Joe” and recently hosted Scarborough and his wife-co-host, Mika Brzezinski, for dinner at the official vice presidential residence.
The report confirms that Harris occasionally watches Fox News’ “The Five,” despite the network’s critical coverage of her. The article reached out to Harris for comment but received no response. It also shed light on Harris’ past relationship with Willie Brown, pointing out that they dated in the mid-1990s when he was a California State Assembly lawmaker and she was a prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. Their relationship ended in 1995, a year before Brown became mayor of San Francisco.
In 1994, Brown appointed Harris to two state commissions while they were dating, one of which paid her a salary of $72,000. The report included a statement from a former aide of Harris, emphasizing her willingness to watch Fox News despite the network’s critical stance. It also highlighted a remark by Judge Jeanine Pirro on “The Five,” where she criticized Harris’ political acumen in dealing with her declining poll numbers, labeling her as “inept.”
Ultimately, Fox News and MSNBC have declined to comment on the report.
