Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) stated on Monday he’s nominating President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“These days I can nominate @realDonaldTrump for the Nobel Peace Prize,” Issa wrote in a submit on X. “Nobody merits it extra.”
Issa didn’t specify in his submit why he was once nominating the president.
In a next remark, then again, Issa’s spokesperson pointed to Trump’s peace efforts within the Heart East.
“Congressman Issa lately led a Codel [Congressional delegation] to 4 Heart East countries – he noticed first-hand and from a number of heads of state that the spirit of peace and shifting clear of battle is actual and multilateral,” Jonathan Wilcox, Issa’s deputy leader of personnel and communications director, stated in a remark to The Hill.
“From the time of his election and after being sworn in, President Trump has impressed and promoted the reason for peace – and in some way we’ve got no longer heard in a few years,” Wilcox persevered.
“His advocacy is an aspiration of a global with out battle, and we’re seeing this come into center of attention in different areas of the arena these days – no longer only one,” he added.
The announcement comes as Trump has reset U.S. coverage across the Ukraine battle, ramping up force on Ukrainian chief Volodymyr Zelensky whilst thawing members of the family with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize more than one occasions up to now however hasn’t ever gained the coveted prize.
Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) stated in January 2024 that she nominated Trump for his function in brokering the ancient Abraham Accords all over his first time period.
Some observers have speculated that Trump’s push for a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine is, partially, so he may get any other likelihood on the Nobel Peace Prize.
