Following a tip from Redditor FragmentedChicken (via Mishaal Rahman), Samsung UK appears to have confirmed at least four Galaxy AI features coming to devices such as the Galaxy S23 series. These include — Circle to Search, Live Translate, Note Assist, and Photo Assist. Circle to Search allows users to circle, type, or select anything on the screen and initiate a Google Search. Live Translate offers real-time translations on mobile phones. Note Assist helps in creating AI summaries and enhancing layouts. Photo Assist brings Generative Editing features to the Gallery app.
Samsung has announced that the AI features of the Galaxy S24 will be available on the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series in the first half of 2024. The update is expected to be included in the One. UI update 6.1. Surprisingly, the Samsung UK list does not include several other Galaxy AI features present in the Galaxy S24 series, such as Image Capture, Interpreter, Chat Assistant, and Transcript Assist. It remains unclear whether Samsung will omit these features from older Galaxy phones or introduce them in the future.
