Samsung provides details of the older devices that will receive Galaxy AI (Image source: Samsung) The Samsung Galaxy S24 series was leaked last week. Besides hardware upgrades, these new devices also feature AI technology. The series has unveiled Galaxy AI, which is expected to be extended to older Galaxy phones, but only to a limited extent. Galaxy AI is a significant feature of the latest Galaxy S24 series, offering additional AI features such as Circle to Search, Live Translate, Note Assist, Generative Edit, and Chat Assist. These features are designed to optimize user experience on the new phones. More details are provided in the attached video. The good news is that one doesn’t have to switch to a Galaxy S24 device to access Galaxy AI. According to Patrick Chomet, Samsung’s Head of Customer Service, the AI feature will be made available to some of Samsung’s older products, though the list of supported devices is limited. Notably, the Galaxy S23 lineup includes the S23 FE, powered by the Exynos 2200 chipset also found in the Galaxy S22. Hence, the devices have the required processing power. When questioned about the limited release, Chomet stated that Samsung is currently “limiting” the rollout of Galaxy AI to last-generation devices. This indicates that the AI features seen on the Galaxy S24 will eventually be made available to the S22 devices, but there is no guarantee of when this will happen.
