The cheapest iPad currently available is the ninth-generation iPad, which is priced under $270 on Amazon. It may be an older model, but it still offers excellent hardware, including the A13 Bionic chip, Apple’s True Tone display, and a front-facing camera. If you prefer a larger screen and faster performance, the latest 10th generation iPad is a great option, and it’s currently $30 off on Amazon.
The sixth-generation iPad Mini, released in 2021, is another excellent choice. It features an 8.3-inch display, A15 Bionic chip, USB-C port, and a power button with Touch ID. Amazon currently has it on sale for $99, which is the biggest discount we’ve seen so far.
The latest iPad Air, released in early 2022, offers a more affordable alternative to the iPad Pro. It is equipped with Apple’s M1 processor, making it faster, but it doesn’t have all the advanced features of the Pro models. You can currently save $99 on the iPad Air at Amazon.
Lastly, the latest iPad Pro models feature Apple’s new M2 processor. Both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models are currently available at a $50 discount.

The ninth-generation iPad is the cheapest option available, currently priced at under $270 on Amazon. While it may not have the latest design features or USB-C support, it offers impressive performance and features such as the A13 Bionic chip, True Tone display, and front-facing camera. It’s our top pick for an affordable iPad. Amazon also offers a $59 discount on the 64GB model and an $80 discount on the 256GB model.

The latest 10.9-inch iPad Air features a faster M1 chip, a Center Stage front camera, and a USB-C charging port. However, it does not offer support for the Apple Pencil 2 without a special dongle. The base 64GB model is priced at $449, while the 256GB model costs $599 at Apple. You can currently save $30 on the 64GB model and the 256GB blue model at B&H. The iPad Mini received a complete redesign last year, featuring a more modern design with rounded edges, thinner bezels, and no home button. It now has a power button with Touch ID on the side and a USB-C port instead of Lightning. The sixth-generation Mini is powered by the A15 Bionic chip and boasts an improved 8.3-inch display and better cameras compared to its predecessor. You can save an additional $99 on the 64GB model, which is the largest discount we’ve seen so far.
