Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5 is receiving the much-anticipated New Game+ mode and some requested Spidey Costumes in the upcoming update scheduled for March. The game was highly praised upon its release in October 2023, but it was missing certain features that players had been longing for. The topmost request was for a New Game+ mode, which would allow players to replay the main story with all their acquired powers and abilities. Initially, Insomniac Games had announced that the update including New Game+ and more would be released by the end of 2023. However, the plans changed in December and the update was postponed until early 2024.
Insomniac Games confirmed in a tweet on February 7 that the New Game + update will be available on March 7. While the developer did not disclose all the details, it assured that the “full list of features” to be introduced in the update will be revealed closer to the launch. The last announcement from Insomniac hinted at the addition of the ability to alter the time of day in the city, change color while using symbiote powers, and other enhancements. It also teased that there will be more significant changes to come. As for what else Insomniac can add, fans are speculating the possibility of playing as Venom in an open world, despite acknowledging that it is unlikely to happen. Ultimately, the players will discover what Insomniac has in store when Spider-Man 2’s major update arrives on March 7.
