The release notes state that Ultrawide band (UWB) technology is now accessible on the Phone Key, facilitating enhanced communication between the car and the Phone Key for locking, unlocking, and opening emergency doors. However, to utilize this new feature, Tesla owners will need both a car that supports Ultra Wideband and an iPhone with Ultra Wideband. To enable this feature, owners must ensure that their Tesla software is updated to version 4.29.5 and follow the upgrade steps.
